Glo gives $1.8m to Stars

Mobile Telecommunication company, Globacom, yesterday made the Black Stars $1.8million richer, just after presenting two new buses to GHANSU the previous day.

At the unveiling ceremony of Glo as the official Telecoms partner of the Black Stars, in Accra, yesterday, the Public Relations Officer of Glo-Ghana, Mr. Olabode Opeisetan announced that the package of $1.5million cash and $3million Glo products covers the Stars, Black Satellites as well as the Black Maidens for the next five years.

Mr. Opeisetan pledged that his outfit will cushion the Stars with another $500million should they qualify for their second successive World Cup final.

He revealed that his outfit was stirred by the FA's competence and efficiency, and therefore, promised their continued support for sports in the country.

In his acceptance speech, the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi thanked Glo for the assistance.

He pointed out that: “With this financial boost, the teams have no choice but to excel in the discharge of their duties.”
