Ghana's Alloryi Moyoyo Mensah will on March 29, 2008 fight the European Boxing Union (EBU) Cruiserweight Champion, David Quinonero.

The fight, which would take place in Houston, Texas, US, is part of the 'International Slug Fest Series', which would witness the participation of many boxers from various countries.

Moyoyo, who stormed DAILY GUIDE offices on Tuesday in the company of his trainer and other officials of his camp, last fought on December 22, 2007 in Poland, where he lost to his opponent.

The Ghanaian pugilist, who currently holds the African Boxing Union (ABU) and International Boxing Organisation (IBO) Africa titles, promised to crush his opponent on the D-day in order to appease his fans who were let down by the defeat he suffered last December in Poland.

Moyoyo, who is the number 10 contender by World Boxing Authority (WBA) Cruiserweight ratings, disclosed that he would have to beat Quinonero (21-0), if he wants to get the chance to fight for a world title in the near future.

Moyoyo's trainer, Issaka Tahiru opined that “though we know that the Spanish (Quinonero) is tough we will win this fight.

“We are not going to let Ghanaians down. My boxer is physically and mentally fit and ready for this fight. All we need now is the prayers of all Ghanaians in order to bring the world cruiserweight title to Ghana soon,” Mr. Tahiru said.

Also on the 'International Slug Fest Series' bill is Ghana's George Amuzu, who will battle it out with Jesus Gonzales of the United States of America.

The boxers, trainers as well as officials will leave for the United States of America on March 24, 2008.
