Tema Youth stunned Accra Hearts of Oak 1-0 in an away game to boost their survival hopes and pile the pressure on the league leaders as their lead comes under threat.

An early minute strike by Ekow Benson ensured that Tema Youth stun Accra Hearts of Oak at home on match-day-24 of the premiership on Saturday.

The defeat as the third loss for the Phobians this season and their first at new home grounds, the Carl Reindorff park.

However, the win ends Tema Youth's six-game winless run.

Hearts who could have extended their four-point lead at the top of the standings fell to 2 minute goal by Ekow Benson.

The premiership debutants held onto the early lead to end the first half 1-0.

Back from recess, the Phobians pushed for the equaliser and came close five minutes into the half when a strike by midfielder Francis Bossman flew over the crossbar.

After that strike, Tema Youth managed to contain their opponents and with some 10 minutes to go, Hearts of Oak lifted their efforts for the equaliser but the could not stop the minutes from ticking as the Tema-based side coasted to victory.
