Medeama SC: Board Member Dr Tony Aubynn insists club deserve to win 2022/23 GPL

Board Chairman of Medeama SC, Dr Tony Aubynn beleives the club deserves to be crowned winner of the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season.

The Yellow and Mauve sit top of the pile with 57 points and are just a win away from annexing the ultimate.

Medeama will host Tamale City in their final game of the season at Akoon Park on Sunday.

And according to Dr Aubynn, the Tarkwa-based club deserve to win the league this season after it eluded them in the last few years when they had the best chance of winning.

“Then before COVID-19, we were also in the lead when government postponed the league and we think we have not been fairly treated by nature so it’s our time to win," he told Graphic Sports.

“We are confident of winning the league, we think that we have been hard done by nature you remember that during the normalisation period, we were in a comfortable lead and then the league was truncated," he added.

The Black Galaxies management committee chairman emphasised that he would have loved to see Medeama win the CAF Champions League but was hoping to get to the money zone, so their investment won’t go waste.

“I have always been disrespectful of lower targets, I think the ultimate is to win but realistically, you need to enter into the money zone because if you put in all your effort and investment and you don’t actually get to the money zone, you would have spent money for nothing," he stressed.
