Ghana defender, Tariq Lamptey says the Black Stars are working hard to achieve the objectives.

The 21-year-old following his nationality switch made his debut against Brazil in a friendly in the build-up to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Tariq featured at the World Cup in Qatar under Otto Addo but he is yet to feature under Chris Hughton due to injury.

According to him, he didn’t struggle to settle with the other players due to how friendly and open everyone is while the staff has also had a role to play and added that he is keen to work with the former Brighton and Hove Albion manager again.

“The boys have been fantastic. The coaching staff, everyone involved has been welcoming to me and I am really enjoying my time,” he told Joy Sports.

“We have a really good squad and we are looking forward to working hard and listening to what the coach has to say, improving and achieving our goals.”

Speaking on his World Cup experience, he said, “You are always excited to play for your country no matter in the World Cup, in a friendly game. Obviously, the World Cup is special. You think about it when you are a little boy but when you join the team, you are always excited and looking forward to getting down to work.”

“We have a great mixture in the team and we are looking forward to doing some good things going forward.”

He went on to play against Switzerland before appearing at the Mundial against Portugal and South Korea.
