Match Report: Medeama SC put up impressive performance to beat Asante Kotoko 2-0

Medeama Sporting Club put up a fantastic performance on Sunday night to see off Asante Kotoko with a delightful 2-0 win in the Ghana Premier League.

The team from Tarkwa today locked horns with the Porcupine Warriors in a Week 23 counter of the ongoing Ghanaian top-flight league campaign.

In a clash staged at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, both teams started strong in the quest to secure victory to climb higher on the league standings.

Despite the good display from Asante Kotoko, the team trailed after just 14 minutes when Medeama SC scored through a header from Jonathan Sowah.

While the Porcupine Warriors would improve their play to try and restore parity before the break, the team was not successful in finding the back of the net.

After recess, Medeama SC displayed an impressive performance and fought to protect the lead.

Eventually, in the 78^th minute, the Yellow and Mauve outfit sealed the victory thanks to a penalty kick converted by defender Vincent Atinga.

The win has sent Medeama SC to 4^th on the Ghana Premier League standings with Asante Kotoko dropping to 7^th.
