Ghana captain, Andre Ayew has indicated that the Black Stars are ready to take on Portugal in the Group H opener of the 2022 FIFA World Cup on Thursday, November 24.

The Black Stars are scheduled to take on the Portuguese national team tomorrow in a game that is expected to present a tough challenge to Coach Otto Addo and his charges.

Speaking at a pre-match press conference on Wednesday, Andre Ayew noted that unlike the meeting in 2014 when Ghana needed to win at all costs, the dynamics are different now.

According to him, players are ready for the game but expect that there will be pressure on the team during the game on Thursday.

"The two teams have changed a lot since then. It is a different game, when we played them in 2014 we had to win by two goals to advance.

"It is not the same game, or the same moment, it is completely different. Every game has its own realities and we will try to give them a tough time,” Andre Ayew told the press.

The experienced Ghana captain continued, "We all know in these big tournaments there are surprises that can happen, we just need to be ready. I don’t feel anyone is stressed or has anxiety before the game.

"I am sure when the game comes there will be pressure, if you don't feel it, you are not human."

During the presser, Andre Ayew assured Ghanaians that the Black Stars will give the Portuguese opponent a tough time tomorrow.

That highly-anticipated clash is scheduled to kick off tomorrow at 16:00GMT.
