Hearts of Oak midfielder, Abdul Aziz Nurudeen has successfully gone through a successful surgery on his knee in South Africa.

Nurudeen flew to South Africa last week to prepare for his surgery.

The young and enterprising midfielder sustained a knee injury last season which saw him out of most of the club's second half of the season.

He was supposed to be part of the CHAN team that qualified for the TotalEnergie CHAN Tournament in Algeria.

Nurudeen was part of the preliminary selection of the players called up by Annor Walker but due to injury, he was dropped from the final squad that played Benin and Nigeria in the two qualifying games.

He will recuperate and start rehabilitation after the surgery which will likely last for 8 weeks before he gets back to light training.

Hearts of Oak are in Mali for their first leg encounter of the 2022/23 CAF Confederations Cup game against Real Bamako on Saturday.
