Accra, Aug. 31, GNA - The annual Frafra and Dagaba Fun Games will be held at the El-Wak Sports Stadium in Accra on Saturday, September 3. A spokesman for the Bongo, Nandom and Tongo Association (BONABOTO) who announced this in Accra on Wednesday, told the GNA Sports that the one-day games made up of Soccer, Tug-Of-War, Sack race Ampe and Dancing is aimed at establishing cordial relationship among the two Northern ethnic Groups.
He said some of the dignitaries expected to participate in the games include Mr Peter Nanfuri, former Inspector-General of Police and Mr B.T. Baba, Chairman of the Ghana Olympic Committee. The Dagaba's would be defending the trophy (The Dog) they won last year.
The two ethnic groups, the Frafras from the Upper East Region and the Dagaba's from the Upper West Region are traditional playmates with a common ancestry and are expected to share simple jokes and interact peacefully. 31 Aug. 05
