Denmark-based Ghana coach, Mas-Ud Didi Dramani has said the lack of good preparations for the Black Stars team caused the side a great deal at the 2021 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

The national team of the West African country prior to the start of the tournament in Cameroon pitched camp in Doha, Qatar.

Although the team was lined up to play three friendly matches, just one was honoured some few days to the commencement of the tournament.

On Tuesday, January 18, 2022, Ghana lost 3-2 to Comoros in a final Group C game of the 2021 AFCON and as a result, failed to advance to the knockout phase.

Analysing the abysmal performance of the Black Stars, Coach Did Dramani says the lack of proper preparations did not help matters.

“First of all in football preparations are very key, good preparations yields positive results but let's ask ourselves if we had good preparations or not in Qatar so obviously the tournament was always going to be a difficult one for us,” the former Asante Kotoko coach told Hot FM in an interview.

Didi Dramani continued, “Football is growing and everyone is becoming a better team, if we don't respect our opponent's such results are expected but in a whole there has been some positives to derive for example, Kamaldeen Sulemana and Fatawu Issahaku are revelations.”

In the wake of the backlash of Ghana head coach Milovan Rajevac, Didi Dramani wants Ghanaians to support and encourage the Serbian tactician.
