Medeama SC midfielder Justice Blay has been rushed to the hospital after picking up a career-threatening injury on Sunday afternoon.

The Yellow and Mauve welcomed Legon Cities to the Akoon Park in the matchday 20 game.

The 29-year-old sustained a broken ankle injury after a horrible tackle from Legon Cities centre-back Joseph Adjei on the 45th minute of the game.

Adjei was sent off by the referee after such a rugby tackle.

Players from both sides looked concerned and gestured for medical staff to hurry on to the pitch.

However, Blay was rushed to the Tarkwa Government Hospital by the club's medical team in an ambulance.

He has been a key performer for Medeama SC in the ongoing season, scoring three goals in 18 game outings.

The game ended 2-1 in favour of Medeama.
Blay recently earned a call up to the Black Stars for the final round of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations [Afcon] qualifying games last month and cameos against Sao Tome and Principe.
