Dreams FC poster boy, Joseph Esso netted a delightful hat-trick on Thursday afternoon to power Dreams F C to defeat Ashanti Gold SC 4-1 in the Ghana Premier League.
The two teams today locked horns at the Theatre of Dreams in Dawu to battle for three points on matchday 16 of the ongoing 2020/2021 Ghanaian top-flight league season.
On the back of a bright start to the match, Dreams FC took the lead in the 7th minute courtesy of a penalty converted by talisman Joseph Esso.
Holding on to the momentum, the home team went into the break with the lead before a second goal from Joseph Esso in the 50th minute stunned Ashgold.
Three minutes later, the exciting attacker continued his impressive form in front of goal as he scored with an unstoppable strike from the edge of the box to complete a sensational hat-trick.
Even though a good fight from Ashanti Gold SC will see the team net a consolation in the 86th through a strike from David Abagna, a goal from Agyenim Boateng from a direct free-kick eventually sealed a 4-1 win for Dreams FC at the end of the game.
As a result of today’s win, Dreams FC have climbed to second on the Ghana Premier League table and just two points behind leaders Karela United.
