Felix Lartey wins gold in Table Tennis competition in the US

Ghana’s top seed in table tennis Felix Lartey has won gold in the LYTTC international tennis event organised in the United States of America.

Felix who is in America studying and playing the game there benefitted from the Ghana Table Tennis Federation scholarship for budding talents in that profession. Derek Abrefa another Ghanaian has also benefitted from these grants sometime ago. Felix Lartey is one of Ghana’s top players and he is preparing well for the upcoming Olympics to be staged in Tokyo, Japan later this year.

This is how Felix Lartey won gold in the competition; he drew a bye in the round of 16, beat Matthew Needle by 11-8,11-7,11-8 in the quarterfinals to go through to the semis where he dislodged Alex Averin by 11-7,11-9,11-7 to meet the dreaded American Japanese in the finals who was at his mercy during finals but at the end of the day Felix Lartey defeated Jayden Zhou 11-9,11-8,11-9 to win the gold medal.

He was full of praise for the Table Tennis President Mawuko Afadzinu and his executives for making him who he is today. “Ghana Table Tennis has really made me proud and will forever be grateful to the president and his executives for this success”, Felix said.

Kudos to Felix Lartey, more success and laurels will come your way when you put in your best with training, dedication and determination the sky will be your limit.
