Salitas FC, the CAF Confederations Cup preliminary stage opponent of Ashanti Gold SC has arrived in Ghana ahead of the first of the scheduled two legs.
Nicknamed the Miners, the Ghana Premier League giants are keen on advancing to the Group stage of the 2020/2021 CAF Confederations Cup competition.
To have a chance to do that, the club based in Obuasi will need to see off Salitas FC, a club from Burkina Faso also poised to excel in the continental inter-club competition.
Last night, FC Salitas touched down at the Kotoka International Airport to seal preparation for the first tie with Ashanti Gold SC on Sunday, November 29, 2020.
Reports picked up has indicated that one player of the visiting team tested positive for the Coronavirus on arrival and has been transferred to the Ga East Hospital where he is receiving treatment.
It looks unlikely for him to feature and his club will have to do without him tomorrow when the game with the Miners is played at the Len Clay Sports Stadium.
