The captain of the Black Queens team, Priscilla Okyere has extended the appreciation of the team to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for putting together friendly games against Morocco.

The Ghana senior women’s national team is set to engage in qualifiers to the next Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON) tournament early next year.

As part of preparations, the football governing body of the West African country has lined up a double-header friendly games for the Black Queens against their counterpart from Morocco.

Speaking to the communications team of the GFA ahead of the first tie, Ghana captain Priscilla Okyere says the team is thankful.

‘’We are grateful to the GFA for organizing these games because it is important to be active. We have been training individually and also as a group in our clubs but due to the Covid-19 outbreak, everything has been on hold including the AWCON qualifiers,” Okyere said as quoted on the website of the GFA.

Priscilla Okyere believes that the friendly games with Morocco is a good opportunity for players to stretch and get into good shape before the qualifiers to the next AWCON are played.

‘’We actually don’t know when it is bouncing back, so for us as players, this is a fine opportunity to play as a team again. We are prepared even though it’s been few days here, our coaches are doing the most, and looking at our current output, we are ready for the Moroccans,” she concluded.

The friendly matches between Ghana and Morocco have been slated for Thursday, November 26, and Monday, November 30, 2020, at the Accra Sports Stadium
