Ghana international Christian Atsu played a cameo role for his Newcastle United outfit on Tuesday night when the team defeated Blackburn Rovers 1-0 in the English Carabao Cup.
The forward has in the past year not played in as many games as he would have wanted but remains bent on working hard to earn more playing time this season.
In a Carabao Cup game against Blackburn Rovers at the St. James’s Cup today, Christian Atsu merited a spot on the substitute bench.
On the Matchday, summer signing Ryan Fraser scored the only goal of the game on the 35th minute after he was assisted by Miguel Almiron.
In the second half, the former Chelsea man was introduced into the game by manager Steve Bruce on the 80th minute as he replaced Englishman Matt Ritchie.
Atsu, 28, had a decent game and helped the Magpies to hold on to the lead from the first half to beat Blackburn Rovers.
