The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku has clarified details of the deal with Macron as he explains the error made by his outfit during the official announcement.

“GFA enters partnership with Macron as Official Match Ball sponsor”, a communique from the Ghana FA said last month.

Following that announcement, various stakeholders raised questions as to whether the GFA had secured a deal directly with Macron or with a distributor.

Following scrutiny by the media, in particular, the country’s football association president has given clarity to the matter.

In an interview with Max Radio, he has confirmed that the Macron match balls will be supplied by a dealer as he calls on stakeholders to focus on the good side of the deal.

“The product to be supplied by the football dealer or the dealer is Macron products. I am sure in the communications that we said Macron but that doesn't negate the good work that has been done that we have an official match ball supplier and Macron will be the brand [balls] that will be played across the country in the new season”, Kurt Okraku shared.

He further stressed, “For me, the positives outweigh how somebody wants to interpret it”.

The GFA’s deal with the Macron intermediary is for a period of three years. The deal which is worth GH¢1.6 million will see the local dealer supplying the body with 5,000 balls and 1,500 pieces of bibs every season for the Ghana Premier League, MTN FA Cup, and the National Division One League
