Ghana would be hoping to have greater access to support from the African Boxing Council for the development of the pugilistic sport following the election of Solomon Ofei Darko to the executive committee of the Supreme Council of the continental governing body.
At its recent extra ordinary congress in Lome the African Boxing Council deliberated on the need to supply equipment to affiliate federations and the training of more referees and judges for the sport in Africa.
And with his elevation to the 10-man executive committee, the Vice President of the Ghana Amateur Boxing Association, Solomon Offei Darko believes he is in a better stead to push Ghana's case for equipment for the development of boxing in the country.
