JUN 19, 2020 LISTEN

Ghanaian international John Boye has signed a 1-year contract extension with FC Metz and will now stay with the club until the summer of 2021.

The center-back joined the French Ligue 1 side in 2018 on a free transfer after he had parted ways with Turkish Super Lig outfit Sivasspor.

During the 2018/2019 football season with France, he massively impressed as he established himself as a key man for FC Metz.

This season, he has equally been good despite being forced to miss some part of the campaign as a result of an injury setback.

As FC Metz prepare for the next season on the back of a season that was abruptly concluded as a result of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, they have deemed it necessary to have John Boye at the club and has activated the option to sign the defender for an additional year.

Thrilled with the offer, the Black Stars asset has inked his signature on the dotted line and will be part of the team’s squad for the 2020/2021 football season.

Boye, 33, made 24 appearances for FC Metz in the French Ligue 1 this season and chipped in with 2 big goals while often wearing the team’s captain’s armband.
