Eric Bekoe: Ex-Kotoko Striker Backs Bashir Hayford For GFA Technical Director Role
Former Kumasi Asante Kotoko striker, Eric Bekoe is backing experienced coach Bashir Hayford as the right man to be given the technical director job at the Ghana Football Association (GFA),
The technical director role of the country’s football governing body became vacant in March after the Ghana FA decided that it is not going to extend the contract of Coach Francis Oti Akenteng.
Now in search of a new technical director, the GFA has shortlisted 6 persons including Bashir Hayford for the role.
Speaking in a recent interview, Eric Bekoe has indicated that he believes the former Black Queens coach can do the job.
“We need somebody who is tried and tested. I foresee Bashir Hayford to fit the job than any other looking at his experience on the job”, Bekoe shared.
He added, “I think he has what it takes to manage the position. He has coached one of the biggest clubs in Ghana and has also passed through all the ranks at the national level. I don't know Professor Mintah that much and so I can't make a case for him. But the truth is that Bashir Hayford will best fit the position”.
The Ghana FA is understood to be engaging the 6 shortlisted candidates for the technical director job and will soon announce an appointment.
