Today's edition of Paris Live begins with an update on the coronavirus, which has lead to the cancellation of many international flights to and from China and entire cruise ships held in quarantine conditions. The World Health Organization, which has declared the outbreak a global health emergency, has appealed for $675 million to fight the virus.

We turn then to the United States where President Donald Trump is taking a victory lap after after his impeachment acquittal in the Senate, just a few months ahead of presidential elections.

On the topic of elections, we meet special guest Larry Sanders, brother of Democratic candidate hopeful Bernie. Taking time out from his own political activities in the UK where he's been based for decades, he is in France to garner support for Democrats abroad and get them involved in the campaign.

Over in Zimbabwe, we hear why the ruling ZANU-PF party sacked its youth secretary and suspended two other senior officials and how the President has reacted.

In Kenya, authorities are faced with human traffickers who target new-born babies at health facilities.

We also get a preview of what to expect from this year's African Union Summit in the Ethiopian capital. The main two-day event kicks off on 9 February, with heads of state coming in from all over Africa to discuss this year's main topic: silencing the guns.
