Since 1988 the 54-year-old Gao Chengyong began to rape and brutally murder. For nearly 30 years, the serial killer remained undiscovered. Now the death penalty was carried out.

In China, a serial killer known as the Chinese "Jack the Ripper" has been executed. The court in Baiyin City, northwest Gansu Province, sentenced the 54-year-old Gao Chengyong to death in March, announced the execution on ''Weibo short message''. China's Supreme Court had previously approved the execution.

Gao Chengyong had raped and murdered 11 women and girls and subsequently raped their bodies. Because of the beastly manner in which he executed some of his victims, he was called "Jack the Ripper" by the Chinese media. As a motive for the brutal murders suspected the police in addition to sexual perversion and misogyny.

Repeated Pattern

Gao Chengyong killed women, using the same pattern...he followed women who wore red clothes to their homes, raping and killing them, he then dismembered their bodies. According to media reports, he extracted the reproductive organs from some of his victims. His youngest victim was eight years old.

Gao committed his killings between 1988 and 2002 in Gansu and neighboring inner Mongolia. But only in 2016 did the police track him down when an uncle was arrested for a minor offense and his DNA was tested. From this, the investigators concluded that the woman murderer must be a relative.

The original Jack the Ripper was a serial killer who brutally murdered five prostitutes in 1888 in East London. The criminal case was never solved.
