Ghana Navy Hails GHACEM

The Flag Officer Commanding the Tema Eastern Naval Command, Commodore James Kunto, has commended GHACEM Limited for its support to the security agencies over the years.

Commodore James Kunto expressed optimism that such efforts, when emulated by other corporate entities, would spur national development.

He disclosed this to the media after receiving bags of cement on behalf of the Tema Eastern Naval Command from GHACEM Ltd in support of the reconstruction of the Navy's administration block which recently collapsed.

Part of Eastern Naval Command's administration block was recently destroyed by a rainstorm so the entire building had to be pulled down for reconstruction.

The GHACEM delegation, led by Solomon Ayiah, acting Director, Strategy and Corporate Affairs, was at the premises of the Naval Command to hand over 400 bags of cement to aid the reconstruction of the facility.

“Upon the collapse of our administration block we contacted them for help. Their response has been quick, and we believe this will in no time lead to the reconstruction of our administration block which will have offices, visitor's room, guard room and other facilities,” he said, disclosing that the project is being undertaken with the Command's internally generated funds.

“Such support from good neighbours like GHACEM is very appreciated,” he added.

Mr. Ayiah, on behalf of management of GHACEM, emphasized that “although our corporate social responsibility is geared towards supporting health and educational infrastructure in the country, there is a wing which is specifically channeled towards supporting the security agencies.”
