Accra, April 30, GNA - Mcottley Holdings, a financial and real estate institution, on Friday presented a cheque for 6,000 dollars to the Cardiothoracic Centre of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital to support the surgery on Abdul Kadir Umar, a hole in heart patient.

Mrs Happy Forson, the Managing Director Mcottley Capital Limited, presenting the cheque, said the company was touched by an appeal on a television station seeking for support for the little boy.

She said the presentation formed part of their third anniversary and their corporate social responsibility.

Mrs Forson said at Mcottley they empowered people to live good and healthy lives and as such they were ready to support little Abdul to live a normal and happy life.

Mrs Forson said the presentation was just a little gesture from their company to the community, and were happy to be associated with little Abdul and expressed the hope that their presentation would serve as a life changer for Abdul, his parents and his community.

Dr Lawrence Agyeman Sereboe, the Director of the National Cardiothoracic Centre, commended the company for its kind gesture to change the life of Abdul and his family.

He gave the assurance that if the surgery was done for the two-year four months old boy, it would be a life changing procedure for him.

He said without surgery, Abdul would not live over 21years and even if he did, he would not have a good quality life.

Dr Sereboe said out of every 100 babies born, one of them would have hole in heart, although generally the cause had not been established.

He called on other corporate organisations to come on board and support society through such gestures so that, together, the country would develop.

Mcottley Holdings Limited, incorporated as a limited liability company under the laws of Ghana, provides financial and managerial services to its subsidiaries operating in the areas of investment banking, real estate development, and support small and medium-scale enterprises with loans. GNA
