SABINE BELOMENA CROWN MISS AFRICA BADEN WÜRTTIMBERG - GERMANY 2013

The debut anticipated Miss Africa Event, Baden Württimberg, organized by the African Union Stuttgart in collaboration with Brittt´s Models and Events management at long last took place at the weekend attracting a huge audience to witness an illumination of African beauty at the Altes Feuerwehrhaus, Stuttgart. A 21 year old student from Cameroon, Miss Sabine Belomena was crowned Miss Africa Baden Württimberg ,whilst Diana Lelieveld (Zambia) and Rosemond Ofori Mems (Ghana) came as first and second runners up respectively.

Initially, twenty gorgeous ladies of African descent were registered by the organizers to showcase the beauty of womanhood, however, seven out of the twenty ladies qualified to reach the final segment of the contest.

“ Oh my God… I am in a dream .. I am so excited to come on top among those beautiful ladies here tonight ” Miss Sabine Belomena commented in tears of joy.

The 21 year old student said her crown as Miss Africa Baden Württimberg is a big challenge serving as a mandatory to help eradicate poverty and the less privileged in Africa. As a representative of African young women in Germany, Miss Balomena said, she will enrich the integration phenomenon instituted by decision makers of Federal Republic, Germany, by exercising and portraying a decent courtesy brewed in an African pot and of course adopting the best from the German culture too.

According to Mr William Arwin Akpomiemie the CEO of Britts Models and Event management, the idea is to give the African youth an opportunity to showcase their talents and promote African culture. Mr Arwin added that his corporate and their associates are in endeavor to support developmental and human resources programs in remote parts of Africa, specifically, Nigeria.

“ This contest is more than the display of beauty epitome, it goes beyond showcasing swimming costume, evening dress, cultural dance and various music tunes, rather is a medium equipping and motivating the youth to tackle many challenges in Africa in their undertakings”.. the enthusiastic event manager disclosed. It is then no secret that the organizers at the same night and the same podium honored exemplary men and women in orientation of raising the African nation in higher esteem here in Germany .

AFRICAN UNION STUTTGART AWARDS MEN AND WOMEN OF EXCELLENCE

The African Union, Stuttgart, has once again chalked another success story, this time under the newly elected Executive. Founded in the early 70´s by a group of African students in the region, Stuttgart, the regional capital, was chosen as its headquarters with an objective of fostering mutual peace and assistance in all form among themselves. Africa Union Stuttgart has since grown effectively to an extend of nurturing three major socio- cultural and sport activities here in the region, namely, Africa football Gala- Stuttgart, African Food Day as well as the prestigious annual African festival event they initiated eleven years ago together with Forum Africa Stuttgart. This year´s “ two in one event” was extraordinary because apart from the attractive beauty pageant, the Union used the platform and conferred also Excellence Award to remarkable African Entrepreneurs including outstanding media operators. The African Media Award 2013 went to the Editorial Board of Radio Africa, Stuttgart and the publisher of bi-monthly African Courier, Magazine, Mr Femi Awoniyi, a Nigerian media guru, residing in Heidelberg, Germany.

Rendering his appreciation towards the conferment of the media Award 2013 on behalf of the African Courier publication and Radio Africa Stuttgart, respectively, Mr Adu Boahene, a Media practitioner thanked the organisers for the Award which, accordingly, serve as a recognition of their performance in the country.

“ Nobody can tell our story better than ourselves, therefore, we Africans should wise up and tell our stories as vivid as it is. I am proud that our service had reach the public interest with positive resonance, even to an extent of conferring such a precious Awards to the African Media here in Germany ” the Ghanaian freelance journalist, Mr Adu Boahene , also founder of Radio Africa Stuttgart commented.

It would be idle to portray that the event went on well without imperfection. Admitting the critical challenges, Mr Lanre Mabinuori, the current chairperson of African Union Stuttgart said, a planning committee will work steadfastly to enhance their effort. He seized the opportunity to thank all sundries including the State Cultural Ministry and numerous recipients of the Excellence Award, as well as the fashion designers, models and their Agents, for their support making the landmark Miss Africa Baden Wurttimberg accomplished.

It is hoped, in spite of all palpable deficiencies, the next Miss Africa pageant in the region will draw larger audience and plenty attractive contesters to secure the quality and dignity of the event.
