Ahanta West GNAT-LAS donates to hospital
Mr. John Gyimah-Amamoo, Western Regional Secretary of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), has appealed to teachers to act within the confines of the law during the presidential run off.
He made the call when the Ahanta West District GNAT-Ladies, the women's wing of the GNAT, presented food items and toiletry to the Nana Hima Dekyi Hospital as part of its end of year activities at Dixcove.
The items included milk, bread, pineapple, oranges, banana, beverages, toilet rolls and biscuits.
Miss Juliana Adu-Twum, the district coordinator of GNAT-Ladies, made the presentation and Miss Portia Ahu, a staff nurse, received the items.
Mr. Gyimah-Amamoo said teachers who would serve as election officials should observe laid-down regulations and procedures of the Electoral Commission to ensure a peaceful election.
He said GNAT would continue to work for improvement in the working and living conditions of teachers and urged teachers to be patient as the association strives to address their grievances.
Mr. Gyimah-Amamoo said teachers are playing a role in national development and communities should cooperate with them to realize the educational goals of the country.
