Interior Minister Henry Quartey has assured the public that his office, in collaboration with state security agencies, will ensure a peaceful and intimidation-free electoral process ahead of the 2024 general elections in December.

Speaking on NEAT FM's Ghana Montie morning show with Mac Jerry Osei Agyemang, the Interior Minister emphasized that any attempts to disrupt the elections would be met with severe consequences.

"Let me sound a very strong warning, no one should dare create any confusion or violence on election day...they will regret it," Quartey declared.

He assured voters that measures are in place to maintain order and that any disruptive actions would be swiftly addressed.

He urged citizens to focus on casting their votes peacefully and trust the electoral process.

"It [violence] will never happen. Just go to the polling station, exercise your franchise and go home. After voting, ballots will be counted and whoever wins will be declared," he stated.

He reiterated that his office is committed to preventing any form of violence before, during, and after the elections, stating, "But if anyone thinks that he's going to bring violence, trust me, he's going to regret it."
