Ghanaian actress Yvonne Nelson has notified the Ghana Police Service of her upcoming protest on the erratic power supply locally known as dumsor.

In her statement shared today, the filmmaker mentioned plans for a vigil on May 25, 2024.

The letter, addressed to the Inspector General of Police, outlined the vigil's details, scheduled to begin at 8:30am and end at midnight at Revolution Square.

The communication expressed frustration over the unacceptable power supply and planned to provide evidence to the president of its adverse on households and businesses.

This initiative follows Yvonne Nelson's earlier call for Ghanaians to join her in campaigning against recent power cuts.

In her recent post, Yvonne expressed her willingness to collaborate with IMANI for the vigil, referencing their involvement in a similar protest in 2015. However, IMANI's President, Franklin Cudjoe, stated that they won't be pressured into organizing a demonstration against the government over the power outages.

He emphasized IMANI's independent approach, welcoming individuals who share their concerns to organize their protests.

In a Facebook update, Mr. Cudjoe disclosed IMANI's readiness to stage own protest against the ongoing crisis.
