22.04.2024 LISTEN

Reverend Augustine Kofi Bempah, the Ashanti/West regional Superintendent of the Assemblies of God, Ghana, Kwadaso District, and founder of the Gospel Light Assembly, Tanoso-Kumasi, has raised concerns about the negative impact of the four-year term limit for political leaders in the country.

He proposed extending the presidential and parliamentary terms to seven or more years to provide leaders with adequate time to implement development projects effectively.

Rev. Bempah emphasized the need for Parliamentarians to prioritize amending this law to better serve the nation's interests.

He argued that the current four-year term is insufficient for leaders to steer the nation towards significant progress, leading to subpar performance and inadequate development.

Rev. Augustine stressed that revising the constitution to extend the tenure of leaders could alleviate economic hardships and promote better governance.

During his 60th birthday celebration, Rev. Augustine used the occasion to express gratitude to the Lord for His protection and to advocate for this important reform.
