NPP Primaries: ‘Alan will be best candidate to lead and make us break the eight’ — Catherine Afeku 

Catherine Afeku, the former Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture has declared her support for Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen as the best candidate to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and secure a victory in the upcoming 2024 elections.

Madam Afeku, in her appeal to the NPP delegates, emphasized that Mr Kyerematen possesses the qualities and experience necessary to effectively lead Ghana.

She highlighted his impressive track record as a former Minister of Trade and Industry and a prominent member of the NPP.

"In my heart, my principle is that Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen is best poised and ready to lead…He will be the best-to-lead and the ready-to-lead candidate to make us break the eight," Madam Afeku stated on Peace FM’s Kokrokoo morning show monitored by ModernGhana News on Monday, July 10, 2023, referring to the party's goal of securing a third consecutive term in office.

She specifically mentioned Mr Kyerematen's dedication to industrialization and his instrumental role in implementing the government's "1 District, 1 Factory" policy, which has significantly benefited the nation.

Madam Afeku also revealed Kyerematen's vision to empower the private sector and transform Ghana if elected as the NPP's presidential candidate and subsequently as President.

She described him as a businessperson with exceptional skills and emphasized his understanding that a thriving private sector is essential for the country's economic growth.

“Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen is a businessman par excellence. He knows empowering the private sector is the engine of growth," she stated.

Madam Afeku emphasized that under Kyerematen's leadership, "His first major catalyst for the change agenda is that he'll pay all these executives."

She highlights Mr Kyerematen's commitment to supporting party members at all levels.
