The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Sunday took the Awutu Senya East Constituency by storm during its constituency campaign launch.

The mammoth crowd flooded Ofaakor, venue for the giant campaign launch with party colours and across Kasoa and its environs.

The colourful event brought together national and regional executives, and former appointees under the erstwhile Mahama administration to provide support to the NDC branch in the constituency.

At the launch, speakers took turns to highlight the 'Ejumapa policies' (Job Creation) of the Peoples Manifesto of the party.

National Chairman, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo in his address said, the next Mahama administration will increase the labour force through the 'free apprenticeship program' and Technical and Vocational Education Training.

"What we are saying is, we are bringing free apprenticeship program to all Ghanaian youth interested and those of you who couldn't attend the free SHS can attend the free Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) or apprenticeship. If you want to learn hairdressing, dressmaking, welding, mason, and any other apprenticeship trade, government will finance the expenses, provide financial support with monthly stipends and after completion government will set you up with the necessary tools and equipment.

"This is what I want to tell you and let you know, that the Peoples manifesto has started working. NPP has even abandoned their manifesto and they’re implementing ours, but that is too late in the day for them, too little, too late. Because is left with less than just 6weeks for Nana Addo and Bawumia and Hawa Koomson to vacate the seat of government."

Member of Parliament for North Tongu Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa expressed dismay over the failure of the Nana Addo led government to transform the country as trumpeted in 2016.

"Look, it's clear that Nana Addo’s government has failed terribly. This is a government that promises so much and yet has delivered next to nothing.

"This is a president who said that he needed just 18months to transform this country and that this country will become an industrialize country. This is one of the major promises made, just give me what they did in the first 18months, now excuses are being made.

"Where are the factories, the One district One factory, Kasoa haven’t benefited yet. I am a member of parliament I should be receiving my $4million dollars this year, but the first $1m has not yet arrived and they are coming to the end of their term. The one village one dam, where are the dams, I have been travelling around the country and you don't see the dams.”

The former Deputy Minister for Education is of the firm conviction, that the NDCs message is resonating with the people who will vote for former President John Dramani Mahama and Parliamentary Candidate, Phylis Naa Koryoo Okunor come December 7.

Awutu Senya East Constituency Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Stephen Ofosu Agyare however urged party faithfuls in and around Kasoa to desist from violence ahead of the December polls.

In a short address during the constituency campaign launch of the NDC, he said the NDC is known to be peace loving people in the constituency and that must ensure peace before, during and after the elections.

"The NDC in Kasoa is certain of victory, but without violence. We should avoid violence and conduct ourselves in a manner that connotes peace as we have been."
