The Food and Drugs Board has cautioned the general public against patronizing Waist and Power Gin Bitters, a brand of alcoholic drink presently on the market.
“Waist and Power Gin Bitters has not been registered with the board, for which reason the board cannot guarantee its safety, quality, efficacy, claims and attributes,, a statement from the FDB said.
The statement signed by the Chief Executive of the FDB, E.K Agyarko said the board considered the brand inappropriate, adding that the information on the label was deceptive.
“It must be noted that the consumption of alcoholic bitters does not build muscles,” it said.
The statement indicated that the board was embarking on an exercise, with the assistance of the police, to ensure that all Waist and Power Gin Bitters were withdrawn from the market.
