Ghanaian fashion school, Riohs Originate, has held its annual roadshow to showcase the works of trainees who successfully completed the institution's 6-month training programme.

Speaking to journalists during the 2020 Riohs Show held at Alliance Francaise in Accra, the Managing Director of Riohs Originate, Joseph Baffoe, urged young people to venture into vocational learning to enable them to acquire skills to start their own businesses and become financially independent.

Mr. Baffoe said the school will open admission for its first-ever online programme which will be available to applicants both locally and internationally.

The new course, which is a remodeled format of the institution's regular half-year Foundation Certificate Programme in Fashion Design, is expected to attract more people to enroll and kick off their careers as designers.

He explained that the institution first introduced its online virtual training sessions during the COVID-19 coronavirus health crisis as part of measures to ensure adherence to prevention protocols as well as the government-imposed lockdown during the month of April.

Mr. Baffoe said the management of the institution will roll out a full online course in the first quarter of 2021 which will involve virtual training lessons and active contactless interactions between students and instructors.

Located at Dzorwulu, in Accra, Riohs Originate offers a 6-month Foundation Certificate Programme in Fashion Design in addition to Fashion Illustration, followed by 3 months of compulsory internship after which graduates are awarded with certificates of completion and outdoored to showcase their works to the public.
