Popular Ghanaian comedian Foster Romanus has explained his decision to keep his marriage to longtime sweetheart Selina Asante private.

He said he wanted to shield his wife from public scrutiny that often comes with celebrity marriages.

In an interview on actor Eddie Nartey’s podcast, Romanus explained that he did not want to see his wife being disrespected by netizens.

"Because of the attention that it comes with, and then I’ve seen a couple of weddings where people tend to disrespect your choice.

“The person you think is best for you then that person thinks what is wrong with you? Why this choice? I didn’t want my wife to go through that," Romanus said.

The comedian married his longtime sweetheart, Selina Asante, in a beautiful traditional engagement ceremony on Friday, June 24, 2022, followed by a white wedding at the Calvary Baptist Church, Circle, the next day.

The ceremony was wrapped up in grand style with a beautiful reception held at the SU Towers, Ridge.

The wedding ceremony was graced with the presence of all his colleague actors and comedians, as well as friends and families of both Foster and his newly wedded wife.
