Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter, better known as Beyoncé, an American singer, songwriter, and dancer has become the most Grammy-awarded artist of all time.

At the time of publication, the singer had a total of 32 trophies, surpassing the late Georg Solti, with major award competitions still to come in the 2023 Grammy Awards.

Beyoncé broke the record for most Grammy wins in history when she won best dance/electronic music album for her critically acclaimed album "Renaissance."

The songstress expressed her emotions after surpassing the late classical conductor Georg Solti, thanking her husband Jay-Z and her team for their unwavering support.

"I’m trying not to be too emotional," Beyoncé said in accepting the award, thanking her parents, uncle, and husband, Jay-Z.

"I’d like to thank the queer community for your love—and for inventing the genre."

One of the biggest questions at tonight's Grammy Awards was whether or not the 42-year-old crooner would break the record.

Beyoncé, who had nine nominations going into the ceremony, had already won three awards in a televised ceremony where roughly 80 of the 91 awards were given out.

These honours included best dance/electronic recording for "Break My Soul," the album's chart-topping lead single, and best traditional R&B performance for "Plastic Off the Sofa," one of the album's tracks.

She also won best R&B song for "Cuff It" during the televised show.

Beyoncé has been nominated for the Grammy Award for Album of the Year. "Break My Soul" is also nominated for song and record of the year.

Beyoncé is already the most decorated female artist and the most nominated artist overall, sharing 88 career nominations with her husband Jay-Z.

If Beyoncé wins album of the year, she will join Lauryn Hill, Whitney Houston, and Natalie Cole as the fourth black woman to chalk such feat.

Given the competition this year, Beyoncé sweep of the three most important awards—album, song, and record of the year—is far from guaranteed.

The ceremony is currently underway at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, since 17 GMT on February 5, 2023.
