Match Week 8 of the ongoing Ghana Premier League season has produced one of the shocking results of the campaign so far with relegation-threatened Ebusua Dwarfs defeating Aduana Stars 3-1.
Aduana Stars went into today’s meeting with a lot of swagger owing to the fact that they were sitting top of the standings of the Ghanaian top-flight.
Hoping to continue a fine run in their quest to clinch the league title at the end of the season, the Dormaa-based side has been stopped in their tracks by a struggling Cape Coast-based side.
A good start to the match by Ebusua Dwarfs saw the side taking a two-goal lead into the first half courtesy strikes from Asamoah and Seidu Abubakar.
In the second half, Aduana Stars came in strong to try and restore parity. Though Yahaya Mohammed managed to pull one back, it was not enough as the home team added a 3rd goal through Isaac Donkor late in the match.
At the end of the 90 minutes, Dwarfs have cruised to a vital 3-1 win that has enhanced their chances of climbing out of the relegation zone. They will need to keep on fighting for points in subsequent matches if they want to survive at the end of the season.
