Special assistant to the Executive Chairman of Asante, Dr Kwame Kyei, Nana Gyimbibi Coker says Kotoko players are to shoulder the blame for their elimination at the hands of Ivorian side San Pedro and not the management of the club.

Kotoko's hope of making it to the group stages of the CAF Confederations Cup came to a halt on Sunday in Abidjan after losing 2:0 having taken the lead by a 1:0 in the first leg in Kumasi.

"How is it that we can't we deal with the indiscipline attitude of the players and stop blaming Dr Kyei and his management whenever Kotoko losses a match," Coker told OTEC FM.

According to him, management have done virtually everything within their power to ensure that the players deliver but they failed so why do fans end up blaming them.

He says the management do not owe any player a dime and provides the best conditions for the players to thrive but they ended up failing so why should they carry that cross.

"Why must management be always accused and vilified anytime Kotoko loses a match whiles a player has been signed and paid to deliver on the pitch. Is the team beyond being beaten in a competition? he quizzed.
