Ghanaian defender, Daniel Darkwah has expressed delight after scoring his first goal to propel Enyimba FC to the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.

The former Asante Kotoko and Aduana Stars defender featured for Nigerian side Enyimba FC on Sunday in the CAF Confederation Cup against South African side TS Galaxy where he had his name on the scoresheet to ensure Enyimba FC win 2-0.

Darkwah opened the account on the 77th minute to help Enyimba FC qualify with 4-1 on aggregate.

“I am very happy to score my first goal for Enyimba FC," he told Light FM in an interview.

“Last season we reached the semi-finals of the confederation and got knocked out so our main target this season is to reach the finals and possibly win the ultimate.

He, however, urged Asante Kotoko his former club to stay focus despite their sad exit from the CAF Confederation Cup. Following a 2-0 loss to FC San Pedro in Ivory Coast.

“I am very saddened by the painful exit of my former club Asante Kotoko”

“But in all things, we should give thanks to God because he knows best. It wasn’t the results they were expecting although they tried their possible best but they should focus on the future and work hard to qualify again to participate in the competition next year”, Daniel added.
