Okwawu United played a much improved game to further their prospects of remaining in the GT Premier League when they spakned visiting Sekondi Hasaacas 3-0 at the Nkawkaw Park.

All the three goals were scored in the second half after both teams had failed to utilise many of the scoring chances that came their way in the first half.

Okwawu kicked off under the instructions of their new found coach Dan Owusu, a former national star and pressurised Hasaacas but failed to find the back of the net and wasted four clear chances in the ninth, 22nd, 26th and 28th minutes.

Accra based Class One referee, Richard Kwabo worsened the plight of the visitors when he gave the marching off order to Hass Peter Eshun in the 33rd minute for a violent tackle on Okwawu's David Mensah. The home team who were urged on by their fans however failed to take advantage of their numerical advantage to score till the end of the first half.

Okwawu made two quick substitutions early in the second half when they brought on Azumah Nelson and Farouk Adamu for Abubakar Yusif and Obed Owusu in 50th and 53rd minutes respectively.

The substitution paid off them as substitute Adamu put the home team into the lead when his shot beat Hasaacas keeper Michael Addo. In the 69th minute, Okwawu scored their second goal through Issaka Ibrahim when his swerving shot after a great lay off from Emmanuel Abeto beat Addo.

The home team made it 3-0 in the 73rd minute through a penalty converted by Farouk after Hasaacas Aldof Gyimah brought down Okwawu's Issaka Ibrahim in the penalty box.

After the third goal, Hasaacas threw everything into the game in search of a consolation goal but that never came as Okwawu' defence led by Kwame Antwi foiled all their efforts at goal.
