League Report GFA Boss Kwesi Nyantakyi Has Not Watched 20 GPL Matches In 13 Years - Bechem United CEO
APR 27, 2018 LISTEN

The Chief Executive Officer of Bechem United, Nana Kwesi Darlington has taken a swipe at the president of the Ghana Football Association, Kwesi Nyantakyi claiming he has not watched 20 Premier League matches since assuming office in December 2005.

The CAF 1st vice president has been in the news for the bad reasons after George Afriyie was relieved off as the vice president of the Ghana Football Association after a meeting held on Tuesday by the Executive Committee at the Alisa Hotel in Accra.

Kwesi Nyantakyi has consistently said he will seek for a fourth term in office when his current term ends in 2019.

However, multiple reports have emerged that the Wa All Stars CEO has rescinded his decision after some Executive Committee Members made an open declaration that they will force Mr Nyantakyi to contest for a fourth term in office.

But according to Mr Darlington, George Afriyie who has declared his intention to contest for the Ghana FA top post in 2019 has been to every Premier League centre and has the requisite to lead the country's football governing not Kwesi Nyantakyi.

"There is no single League centre in Ghana that George Afriyie hasn’t been there," he told Takoradi based Spice FM.

"Do you know that we play about 480 matches in a single season?" he quizzed.

"Kwesi Nyantakyi hasn’t watched 20 matches in his 13 years stay as the President of the Ghana Football Association. If he says am lying, he should come and tell me the games he has watched and the venues he watched those matches.

"George Afriyie has gone to every League centre in the country. Every President who is ready to serve the country tours the country to know the problems of the country before making his manifesto and that is what George Afriyie has done,” he added.

Host of Kokrokoo on Peace FM, Kwame Sefa Kayi, a Member of the 2014 Commission of Inquiry Moses Foh-Amoaning and former vice president of the Ghana Football Association, Fred Pappoe among other personalities have all called on Kwesi Nyantakyi not to seek re-election in 2019.
