President of the West Africa Football Union Zone B, Kwesi Nyantakyi hopes to see the ongoing WAFU Cup of Nation end in a success.

The 2017 WAFU tournament kick started last Saturday at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium. 16 West African countries are in participation for the ultimate.

Nyantakyi who doubles as the President for the Ghana Football Association expects the tournament to end in success.

“We are happy to be hosting such a competition in Ghana, it is an honor for the country Ghana to be hosting such even,” he said during the opening ceremony.

“It is our wish and prayer that we have a successful competition.

“We hope everything goes well and as planned. We will like to welcome all the participating teams and wish them well and may the best team win the competition.

Eight out of the sixteen teams have qualified to the Group stage of the competition.

Ghana, Nigeria, Niger, Cote d’ Ivoire, Benin, Senegal, Mali and Guinea have all made it to the next round of the competition.
