Roma, June 1, (GNA/dpa) - Four Juventus fans travelling from southern Italy to Cardiff in a decades old Fiat 500 car were approaching London Thursday on their charity trip to the Champions League final against Real Madrid.

'The adventure continues,' the four fans, all in their 20s, wrote on their Facebook travel log.

The 2,850-kilometre trip took shape as a bet in early May before Juve's semi-final against Monaco and thanks to sponsors turned into a way to assist people in need.

The small red car from the 1970s left Monday from the town of Altamura in the southern Apulia region, with scheduled stops in Rome, Amatrice, which was devastated by an earthquake in August 2016, Milan, Turin, Paris and London.

'It is not just a tour for Juve, but also to be close to people who have been less lucky than us,' said Sandro Carissimo, who borrowed the car from his mother.

'So we thought we had to pass by Amatrice and by Bataclan (the Paris concert hall where a terrorist attack took place in November 2015).'

An assistance vehicle helped the crew deliver 200 kilograms of artisan bread and other Altamura products in the damaged central Italian town.

The four fans, who have no tickets for the Saturday final, said they hope for 'manna from the sky," when they arrive in Cardiff.
