GHANASoccernet.com can confirm that Asante Kotoko have accepted a US$ 150,000 offer from Libyan side Al Ahli Sports Club for their captain Michael Akuffu.
The Ghanaian champions rejected a US$ 100,000 deal from another Libyan outfit Al Akhdar.
Kotoko are now ready to allow the combative midfielder to leave to Al Ahli, based in the capital Tripoli.
“We have received a new offer for Michael Akuffu. It is US$ 150,000. Kotoko will go for that one not the US$ 100,000,” Kotoko's Operations Manager George Kennedy told Kotoko Express.
Akuffu joined Kotoko four seasons ago from Gomoa Fetteh Feyenoord Academy and has been a faithful servant.
He captained the team to win the league and FA Cup double this season.
Akuffu was a member of the Ghana team which won silver at the 2014 African Nation Championship in South Africa.
