Ghana's weightlifting team is preparing feverishly for this year's London Olympics scheduled for July.
DAILY GUIDE SPORTS' trip to the Azumah Nelson Sports Complex a few days ago saw a battle ready side undergoing a series of sessions under the tutelage of Melbourne 2006 77kg gold medalist Majeti Fetrie.
The exercise, according to the Ghana Weightlifting Association's scribe Husseini A. Addy, was a justifier for the African championship in Nairobi, Kenya, where those who will excel would be picked for the Olympics.
The team is due for camping at the National Hockey Stadium Hostel this Wednesday to fine-tune preparations for the African championship scheduled from March 28 to April 4 in Nairobi.
The following have been selected for the camping exercise. Seth Fetrie, Prince Nyarko, Nii Otoo Laryea, Joe Sintim, Nii Dodoo Darko, Albert Abotsi and Daniel Darko for the men's division.
In the ladies' category, Ruth Baffoe, Juliana Aku, Afi Abotsi and Alberta Ampomah will be battling for places.
