Accra, Dec. 17, GNA - The 2010 edition of the Hoops Invitational basketball tournament takes place on Saturday, December 18, at the Prisons Sports Complex, Cantonment, Accra.
The event to be organized by D'Elite Club is expected to attract the crème de la crème of Ghana Basketball, players and officials as well as Executives of the Ghana Basketball Association.
Ten male and six female basketball clubs will battle for honours in the event targeted for players within the ages of 18 and 32 years.
Aurora Commodore Mensah, Chief Executive of D'Elite Club told GNA Sports that the male division will have teams including defending champions, Cape Coast Hoops, Humble Rasta, Dream Team, Tema Youth, Tudu Magic, Catholic Youth Organization, Holy Family, Yotive Wolf and Kingdom Hoops.
The likes of Liberty Ladies, D'Elite Ladies, VIP Ladies, Freedom Ladies, Turbo Jet Ladies and CYO Ladies will compete in the female divisions.
The one-day event is being sponsored and supported by Airport Shell, Indomie, MTN, Max Energy drink, Loya milk, Mobile water, Tropical Rhythms, T.T Brothers, Vita milk and Ernest Chemist.
At stake are attractive prizes for winners in both competitions.
