120 golfers to vie for Ecobank Seniors trophy

Accra, June 1, GNA - All is set for this year's Ecobank Ghana Limited Chairmen Seniors' Open Golf Championship scheduled for the Achimota Golf Course in Accra on Saturday, June 6.

Mr Kwabena Oteng-Aboagye, General Manager of the Achimota Golf Club told GNA Sports in Accra on Monday, that the one-day 18-Hole event, which would be open to senior golfers aged 55 years and above was to honor former chairmen of the bank.

He said the former chairmen are Mr J. S. Addo, former Governor of the Bank of Ghana and the first Board Chairman and Mr E. P. L. Gyampoh, who succeeded Mr Addo as some of the past Board Chairmen of the Bank.

Among an array of senior golfers expected to participate in the competition are Felix Frempong, the newly-elected President of the Ghana Golf Association, Mike Ezan, President of the Achimota Golf Club, Yaw Assah-Sam, Mike Ben-George, Dan Dennis, Charles Tabi and Paul Owusu--Baah.

The Ladies section would also witness stiff opposition from Mona Myles-Lamptey, Clara Price, Florence Etwi-Barimah, Adelaide Owusu-Adjapong and Mary Asafo-Adjaye.

Officials of the Bank are expected to grace the occasion.
