Yaw Boowe Padmore Football Club beat Awereoso FC 2-0 in the finals of a football gala organised to commission a newly constructed Yaw Boowe Public Park, near Coaltar in the Suhum-Kraboa-Coaltar District.
The four community teams made up Yaw Boowe Padmore FC, Awereoso FC, Adoagyiri FC and Adukwasi FC participated in the round-robin tournament.
The captain of Padmore FC, Awudu Adams ensured victory for his side when he scored all the two goals through a header and a free kick in the 27th and the 30th minutes respectively.
On the way to the finals, Yaw Boowe Padmore F/C pipped Adukwasi F/C 1-0 and beat Adoagyiri F/C 2-1 whiles Awereoso drew one-all with Adoagyiri F/C
and Adukwasi F/C.
At the end of the round-robin, Yaw Boowe Padmore F/C gathered six points followed by Awereoso FC with five points, Adukwasi FC had four points with Adoagyiri FC gaining two points.
Abusuapaying Yaw Boowe who officially opened the playing grounds donated the trophy at stake.
