Ghana fans in Sekondi are hoping for a massive win for the Black Stars on Saturday that would result in more national team matches being played in that part of the country.

The newly-constructed Sekondi Stadium will host the 2010 World Cup qualifier against Lesotho - the first national team game in that region of the West African country.

Accra and Kumasi have previously hosted Black Stars matches but the construction of the Sekondi Stadium for the January's African Cup of Nations has given the Ghanaian football authorities other options.

The traditional ruler of Sekondi, Nana Kwabena Nketia, who visited the Black Stars during their final training session on Friday, is confident more matches will be played at Essipong Stadium.

"This match is a great opportunity for Sekondi to support the Black Stars massively so that many more national team matches can return well," NKetia told Ghanasoccernet
