Premier Golf club, Achimota will on Saturday host a memorial tournament in honour of another golf icon, late Dr Kwame Nyaho Tamakloe, at the Achimota Golf course.

This special tournament instituted by wife of the late golfer, Mrs Janet Tamakloe and which has been running for five years, has been tremendously patronised by all keen golfers especially the veterans across the leading golf courses in the country.

Described as an inspirer, innovator, golf disciplinarian and above all a medical doctor who ate, slept and dreamt golf, was the founder of Nyaho Medical Centre.

Indeed Saturday's 18/hole tourney for amateur and professional golfers is the third such memorial event within one week for ardent past golfers like W.F. Tandoh of Celebrity fame and Oyeeman Wereko Ampem II, both contemporaries of Dr Nyaho Tamakloe.

The last two events on Saturday and Sunday witnessed the presence of all the veteran golf faithful.

Mrs Tamakloe, who is known for her benevolence, hinted of very attractive prizes to respective winners who will battle in the men's scratch and handicap, as well as ladies' scratch and handicap divisions and in the professional and juniors segments.

Paul Nukunu and Mrs Van Luit who won the last edition of the competition will face David Owen, T.K. Govinous, Frank Adu Jnr, Godwin Sai, Geof Fisher in the men's category.
