Former Black Stars striker, Asamoah Gyan has debunked rumours surrounding an incident involving midfielder Sulley Muntari and Moses Amah 'Parker' during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Multiple reports emerged that a physical altercation occurred between Muntari and Parker over appearance fees, resulting in Muntari's suspension from the senior national team.

However, Gyan, who was the skipper at the time dismissed these claims.

“Sulley [Muntari] never slapped anybody," the 38-year-old told Accra-based Onua TV.

While Gyan refrained from providing further details, he stressed that Muntari was not implicated in any such event.

Following the alleged altercation, Muntari faced disciplinary measures and was removed from the team's camp due to indiscipline.

Muntari was eventually kicked out of the team after failing to publicly apologize to the then-head coach, Kwesi Appiah and the management team.

The Black Stars who were making their third appearance at the Mundial got eliminated at the group phase after three games.
